Tragedy in Bucharest: 19-year-old dies in apartment fire, father injured.
On April 20, 2025, around 2:15 AM, police in Sector 5, Bucharest, received a call reporting a fire. The caller, a 49-year-old man, stated his son was trapped inside.
Upon arrival, police found the father injured. Firefighters and paramedics swiftly extinguished the blaze and provided medical assistance.

The 49-year-old father was treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital for further medical care.
Despite rescue efforts, the 19-year-old son was pronounced dead. Judicial sources reported the deceased had autism spectrum disorder. The fire caused panic, and the father was unable to remove his son from the burning residence.
According to authorities, the fire also damaged four cars parked in the area.
Investigations are ongoing by Sector 18 Police and the local prosecutor’s office. The case is being investigated as possible culpable damage, culpable inflicting of bodily harm, and culpable homicide.
